Revolution takes many forms. For Mary it is rejecting a fitness industry norm that perpetuates the notion of exercise as being about youth, thinness, big muscles and outward perfection – for a passion to help people of all ages and abilities experience the joy of health and vitality through safe and effective exercise.
A lifelong love of exercise together with the pain of watching her parents suffer the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle, influenced Mary’s decision to pursue personal training as a second career and inspired her to form LifeStages Fitness.
Mary is 58 years old and certified by The American Council on Exercise (ACE) Academy Elite and has been a personal trainer for eight years. She had a total knee replacement nine years ago, so Mary understands the struggle of “getting back” after a major injury.
She has expertise in balance and mobility classes for older adults. She also is an avid boxer who was trained by a semi-professional for three years.
Mary enjoys opera, drawing, and golf.
